According to the latest data from the National Bureau of Statistics, Sichuan's yarn production in August reached 47,900 tons, marking a decline of 16.11% compared to the previous month. The output of pure cotton yarn dropped to 28,500 tons, down 17.80% from July, while cotton blended yarn production fell to 550,000 tons, a decrease of 16.55%. Meanwhile, chemical fiber yarn output was 13,900 tons, a reduction of 12.19% from the prior month.

Looking at the year-to-date figures from January to August, Sichuan's total yarn output amounted to 432,700 tons, showing a significant year-on-year increase of 44.02%. Pure cotton yarn output totaled 266,200 tons, up 34.22%, while cotton blended yarn reached 51,700 tons, an increase of 21.40%. Chemical fiber yarn saw the most substantial growth, rising to 114,800 tons, a 92.86% increase compared to the same period last year.

In August, fabric production in Sichuan stood at 103 million meters, down 15.74% from the previous month. Cotton fabric output was 63 million meters, a slight decrease of 15.68%, while cotton blended fabric production fell to 37 million meters, down 16.52%. However, chemical fiber fabric output remained relatively stable at 300 million meters, a modest drop of 4.61% compared to July.

For the first eight months of the year, Sichuan's cumulative fabric output reached 934 million meters, up 46.10% year-on-year. Cotton cloth production totaled 590 million meters, reflecting a strong increase of 56.66%. Cotton blended cloth output was 321 million meters, up 32.48%, and chemical fiber cloth output rose to 230 million meters, an increase of 12.64%.

Additionally, the output of printed and dyed fabric in Sichuan for the period from January to August reached 492 million meters, representing a year-on-year growth of 49.59%. This highlights the continued momentum in the textile sector despite some monthly fluctuations.
