According to the brand’s representative in China, Next operates through three primary sales channels. Firstly, retail remains the most crucial channel, with over 490 chain stores currently established in the UK and Ireland. Secondly, Next has built a robust mail-order business, offering catalogs and an e-commerce platform that cater to over two million active customers. Lastly, the global franchise network extends Next’s reach beyond the UK and Ireland, with more than 140 stores internationally. Since its inception, Next has consistently embraced forward-thinking strategies in fashion, home goods, and retail. In 1988, it pioneered an innovative mail-order model with a substantial 350-page hardcover catalog. By 1999, Next ventured into online shopping, expanding its catalog reach to include digital browsing options—another groundbreaking move in the UK's home shopping industry. In 2007, the catalog grew to an impressive 1,200 pages, providing comprehensive coverage of products ranging from menswear and womenswear to children’s items and home decor. As Next continues to expand globally, it plans to open its second store in China in Suzhou’s Impressions City by the end of September.
