For the 2009 Fall/Winter season, Next introduced an evolving array of women's styles, encompassing seven casual collections and five formal ones, alongside the new Runway collection and Lipsy brand. According to the brand representative in China, Next operates through three primary sales channels. Retail remains the cornerstone, with over 490 chain stores established across the UK and Ireland. The second channel, mail-order, boasts a strong customer base of over two million active users thanks to catalogs and an online shopping platform. Lastly, Next’s global franchise network spans more than 140 stores outside the UK and Ireland. From the outset, Next has embraced a forward-thinking approach, integrating fashion with home and retail sectors through bold innovations. In 1988, Next pioneered a revolutionary sales model with a 350-page hardcover shopping guide. By 1999, the brand ventured into online shopping, extending its catalog to the digital realm, allowing customers to browse products page-by-page—another groundbreaking step in home shopping in the UK. In 2007, the Next catalog grew to an impressive 1,200 pages, covering a vast array of products, from men's and women's wear to children's clothing and home decor. As part of its expansion plans, it was announced that Next will open its second store in China in the city of Suzhou by the end of September. This move will allow even more consumers to experience Next's distinctive style and offerings.
