Chemical fabrics enter the era of coding

The textile industry, particularly in the field of chemical fiber fabrics, is one of the most dynamic and fast-changing sectors. It encompasses a wide range of styles, structures, and production processes, making it challenging to manage and standardize. However, in China, there has long been a lack of uniform naming and coding systems for chemical fiber textiles. As a result, different information systems—each with its own management goals and methods—have used varying names, codes, and structures for the same products. This inconsistency has created significant barriers in the exchange of textile-related information and has negatively impacted the efficiency and development of textile trade. Starting December 1st, the newly implemented "Code for Textile Fabrics (Chemical Fibers)" will bring much-needed clarity and standardization to this sector. This national standard aims to resolve the confusion that has plagued the industry for years and fills a critical gap in China’s textile fabric standards. By introducing a unified coding system, it will facilitate smoother communication between different stakeholders, from manufacturers to retailers and e-commerce platforms. The standard was proposed and managed by the National Article Code Standardization Technical Committee. It was initially drafted by Wujiang City Silk Capital Shengze E-commerce Information Co., Ltd., and later developed jointly by the China Textile Information Center and the China Article Numbering Center. After more than three years of research, testing, and refinement, it has now been officially recognized as a national standard. According to Shi Bin, Manager of the Textile Fabric Coding Office at Shengjiang E-commerce Information Co., Ltd., these codes act like a "personal ID card" for each fabric. They provide essential information about the main raw materials, yarn structure, weaving methods, and other key characteristics. The code for chemical fiber textiles consists of 17 digits, combining a name code and an attribute code. Designed with principles of scientific accuracy, versatility, practicality, and scalability, it is well-suited for use in various stages of the textile supply chain, including production, sales, logistics, and e-commerce. This new standard is expected to greatly enhance the efficiency and transparency of the textile industry across the country.

Carbon fiber prepreg cloth

Carbon fiber prepreg cloth offers several benefits over traditional materials like steel or aluminum. It is significantly lighter in weight, allowing for improved fuel efficiency and better performance in applications where weight reduction is critical. It also has excellent thermal and electrical conductivity properties, making it suitable for applications that require heat dissipation or electromagnetic shielding.
