On November 22, 2010, the China National Textile and Apparel Council organized a national textile industrial cluster working conference in Beijing. Wang Wei, Deputy Director of the Division of Consumer Products of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology attended the meeting and delivered a speech, proposing that the textile industry is a pillar and livelihood industry of China's national economy, accelerating the process of industrialization, informatization, urbanization, marketization, and internationalization in China. Among them, the textile industry will continue to play an important role. Textile industry clusters are forms of industrial organization that adapt to competition and development needs under the role of market mechanisms and play a decisive role in the development of the textile industry. The key period for the transformation of China's textile industry from big to strong in the "Twelfth Five-Year Plan" has both opportunities for development and severe challenges. Promoting the transformation and upgrading of industrial clusters is one of the key tasks for the development of the textile industry during the "12th Five-Year Plan" period.

He said that the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology will actively promote the upgrading of the textile industry cluster, mainly doing four aspects: first, overall planning and optimizing the layout; second, promoting the technological transformation, energy-saving emission reduction and transformation and upgrading of the enterprises in the cluster area; It is to support the improvement of the construction of the public service system; Fourth is to do a good job in the demonstration of typical publicity.

He pointed out that since 2009, the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology has started activities to create a national demonstration base for new industrialization and put forward ten specific requirements, focusing on the benefits of leading industry scale, technological innovation, quality and safety protection, and The sustainable development, regional brand development and other aspects have reached the leading domestic level. He hoped that the textile industry clusters around the country would, in accordance with the requirements of creating a new type of industrialization demonstration base, make active efforts to speed up the transformation and upgrading, to make the overall competitiveness of the textile industry stronger, and to make the textile giants make their due contributions to the advancement of the powerful countries.
