In March this year, Baoxi Birds Clothing Co., Ltd. organized an order meeting for the fall and winter 2010 collection at its headquarters in Hebei Province. The brand will be available in over 100 integrated stores across the northeast and northwest regions starting from late August to September. It was reported that the introduction of the Baoxiu Women’s Wear Collection had been delayed for a long time. Several years ago, many agents had expressed their interest in carrying women’s products, believing they would be more popular and profitable. However, due to internal considerations such as team coordination and resource allocation, the launch was postponed. This time, when the women's brand was presented to agents for the first time, the response was overwhelmingly positive. Over 100 large-store agents expressed strong interest in promoting the new line.
Since 2008, the company has been implementing a multi-series development strategy under the same brand. It has introduced several sub-brands, including SAINT ANGELO, S.ANGELO, SAINT ANGELO Classic, and SAINT ANGELO LADIES. After the official launch, the focus has shifted toward expanding retail channels. Currently, there are over 200 integrated stores, each spanning more than 500 square meters, with some exceeding 1,000 square meters.
Previously, large integrated stores operated by men’s and casual wear brands in Wenzhou have now become key channels for introducing new brands. This shift reflects a growing trend in the industry, where established retail spaces are being repurposed to accommodate new product lines.
At the end of last year, another local clothing company, Metersbonwe Fashion Co., Ltd., launched a children's wear brand called me&city kids. Initially, the brand was distributed through existing Metersbonwe outlets. Recently, the company has been exploring opportunities to expand into foreign markets for children's wear.
In recent years, an increasing number of leading enterprises in the shoe and clothing industry in Wenzhou have started to diversify their product lines. Li Yanhui, a consultant with the Wenzhou Garment Merchants Association and former secretary-general of the Zhejiang Garment Association, noted that brand extension offers multiple benefits. It allows companies to share resources, promote new brands at a lower cost, and create new revenue streams.
